Bramslevgaard is a historic manor situated in the beautiful surroundings by Mariager Fjord. Over the years, the manor has preserved its charm and authentic atmosphere. Bramslevgaard has undergone several renovations and now operates as a hotel and event venue, where guests can experience a blend of historical ambiance with modern comfort and exceptional cuisine.

History
Owners Through the Ages
Inn Since 1959
Nestled in an area rich with ancient graves and approximately 90 prehistoric sites, BramslevGaard is a historic manor hotel.
The name "Bramslev" derives from the personal name "Bram," with the suffix "-lev" meaning place or estate. The site dates back to the Migration Period, around 300-500 AD.
Det oprindelige stuehus menes at være opført i 1865. Bramslevgaard havde oprindelig et jordareal på ca. 700 tdr. land, men med senere udstykning og salg frem til år 1920, har dette reduceret gårdens areal til ca. 127 tdr., heraf 50 tdr. er bakker og skov, der vender ned mod Mariager Fjord.
The hills, known as Bramslev Bakker, were protected in 1933, granting public access.
The hills are home to unique Nordic fauna and flora, including some of Denmark's largest wild juniper bushes
The manor has been owned by the Bidstrup family since 1951 and has been hosting guests since 1959. In 2016, a new extension was added, featuring new event and conference rooms, an à la carte restaurant, and wellness facilities.
In 2017, the original manor house was restored in period manor style, and in 2018, the apartments in the left wing of the estate were also renovated.
I januar 2022 solgte Jørgen og Lene Bidstrup gården og hotellet, og i dag står familien Kartz som ejere af BramslevGaard. I april 2026 stod en ny bygning færdig med 25 værelser, og dermed en fordobling af kapaciteten. Samtidig blev salen i vestlængen restaureret og moderniseret.
Owners of BramslevGaard Through the Years
BramslevGaard has been owned by various individuals over time, each contributing to its rich history. In 1951, Holger Bidstrup purchased BramslevGaard and converted it into a guesthouse. The estate remained in the Bidstrup family for several generations, during which many improvements and expansions were made. In 2022, the Kartz family took over the hotel and its operations, continuing to run it with the same familial spirit and great respect for the estate’s history.
1500s
In the mid-16th century, BramslevGaard was part of the Havnø estate, along with Nakkedal, Hjerritsdal, and Hjerritsdal Mill.
1600s

1633: Jørgen Grube
1640: Gans enke Lene Rud
1650’erne: Jørgen Seefeld
1663 cirka: Hans Nielsen Drostrup
1684: Mette Sofie Kalow. She is only 9 years old when she inherits the deed from her grandfather, Hans Nielsen Drostrup
1699: Mathias Pedersen Hamborg, Mette Sofie's widower. She dies at the age of 25.
1700s
1704: November 10th, the farm burns down.
1718 ca.: Johannes Nielsen Abildgaard
1722: Anders Pedersen Lund
1800s
1804: Peder Jakobsen og Peder Laursen
At this time, there were two farms situated close to each other.
1844: Peder Holm
1849: Laurits Jensen
He bought Røkkendal and added it to the estate. He also owned Søndergårde and Hjerritsdal Mill. It is likely Laurits who demolishes the old farms and constructs a new one.
1865: Stuehuset opføres
1866: Carl Kirstein
1870: Baron Otto Zytphen-Adeler
1874: Herredsfoged O. C. Winge, Skanderborg.
He establishes a large park around the estate and carries out significant decorations of the property.
1894: A. Hovgaard
The western wing and the eastern wing are constructed.
1900s
1902: P. Wolff
1912: Otto Wolff (1875-1964)
Proprietor of the Moetofte farm in Asferg. His son, Aksel Wolff (1911-2008), wrote memoirs about the subdivision of Bramslev Bakker.
1930: M. Nielsen.
He made several improvements to the estate.
Free-standing outbuilding constructed.
1951: Holger Bidstrup
Principal at Himmerlands Youth School, Haubro. He had the estate managed by a steward.
1957: Hans Bidstrup (forpagter)
Holger Bidstrup leases the estate to his son, Hans Bidstrup.
Hans and Åse Bidstrup convert the main house into a guesthouse.
1991: Jørgen og Lene Bidstrup
Son and daughter-in-law Jørgen and Lene Bidstrup take over Bramslevgaard and carry out extensive renovations and modernization.
2003: New holiday apartments are constructed in the western wing.
2007: Owners residence is built.
2016: New event and conference rooms, an à la carte restaurant, and wellness facilities are constructed in the eastern wing of the estate.
2017: The original main house is restored in period-typical manor style.
2018: The apartments in the western wing of the estate are renovated.
2000s
2022: Familien Kartz
Takes over the hotel and its operations, continuing it as a hotel, restaurant, accommodation, event, and conference venue.

Et komplet bryllupsarrangement med overnatning. Maden, vinen, serveringen, borddækningen, omgivelserne og alt var helt perfekt. Vores venner, som holdte deres bryllup her har fået en vidunderlig dag. Skønt værelse og lækker morgenbuffet.
